Both the new Kia Sedona and the new Honda Odyssey are fitted with similar engines. Both V6 engines offer just around 280 horsepower, however, it's the Sedona that boasts a larger towing capacity (3,500 pounds vs 3,000 pounds).
The 2019 Kia Sedona offers a more comfortable and spacious interior than the new 2019 Honda Odyssey thanks to more front hip and shoulder room, as well as more rear leg and hip room. The third row of the new Sedona even offers more third row head and hip room than the new Odyssey!
Additionally, the new 2019 Sedona offers just a bit more total passenger volume (166 cubic feet) than the 2019 Odyssey (164 cubic feet). With all three rows in use, the Sedona also offers more cargo storage behind the third row (33.9 cubic feet) than the Odyssey (32.8 cubic feet).
For all of these reasons and so many more, we recommend the new Kia Sedona over the new Honda Odyssey for drivers in search of more capability, versatility and comfort!
