The 2018 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid offers drivers an EPA-estimated 43 highway miles per gallon (103 MPGe) and a 610-mile total driving range thanks to the innovative Kia Full Parallel Hybrid System. The hybrid system features a 154-hp, 2.0-liter GDI inline four-cylinder engine; a 66-hp, Interior-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and a 360V lithium polymer battery.
The Optima Plug-In Hybrid gives drivers up to 29 miles of all-electric range. The battery recharges with either a Level 1 (120V) or a Level 2 (240V) charger. The Level 2 charger offers a full charge in about three hours. The battery even recharges while braking thanks to innovative regenerative braking technology.
The Optima Plug-In Hybrid offers one model (EX) in a front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration. It also features an optional panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, LED Beam headlights with Dynamic Bending Light.
